LED Dog Collars: Why Night Walk Safety Matters
Be Seen, Be Safe
Tum is dark brown. On a dark street, he's basically invisible. After a close call with a cyclist, we invested in an LED collar โ and never looked back.
The Scary Statistics
Most pedestrian and pet accidents happen during twilight hours and at night. A standard reflective collar only works when light is directly shined on it. An LED collar creates its own light โ visible from 500+ meters away.
What to Look For
- USB rechargeable: No constantly buying batteries. A full charge lasts 3-8 hours depending on mode
- Multiple light modes: Steady, fast flash, slow flash โ slow flash extends battery life
- Waterproof: Rain walks happen. Your collar should handle them
- Adjustable size: Cut-to-fit silicone or adjustable nylon with built-in LEDs
- Comfortable: It should sit alongside their regular collar, not replace it (no ID tags on LED collars)
Best Colors for Visibility
Green is the most visible to the human eye in low light. Red stands out against urban backgrounds. Blue and white are also highly visible but may blend with some environments.
Our USB Rechargeable LED Dog Collar keeps Tum visible and safe. Because evening walks should be relaxing, not risky.
